Not really a story - but why I liked JB

I met JB when we hired him to be the maintenance super for several buildings we owned.  We hit it off quickly, although we were from totally different worlds.  That's because he was a guy who saw you as a person, not a stereotype.  We spoke for hours on quiet days, and time spent with him went by quickly.  He had no patience for stupidity or cruelty, and he loved dogs: traits I appreciate.  Though he'd had a tough life, if you knew anything at all about people, you KNEW this was a good man.  I introduced him to my family, and my wife and kids also instinctively liked him.  Simply put, JB was a GENTLEMAN.

One day, Our boss (and friend) and JB and I went to a chain link fenced in yard.  Our company had bought the container in the yard, but we had no key to the very big padlock on the the gate.  We hadn't been given a key and didn't know how to get past that lock.  JB asked us if we owned the container and had a right to be in there.  We assured him we did and it wouldn't be a problem if the cops came.  He turned, went back to his car, and got a sledgehammer out of the trunk.  BAM!  BAM!  BAM!   No more lock.  JB explained to me: "If you're willing to make noise, and have a sledgehammer, you can get past just about anything."  Lesson learned.
